A6 Paper Template: Sizes, Setup, And Print Tips

An a6 paper template gives you a ready-made page size for compact print or digital layouts. A6 measures 105 × 148 mm, or 4.13 × 5.83 inches, so the template should match those exact dimensions before you add text or artwork. Whether you are making notes, cards, planner pages, or inserts, the right setup helps the final file fit cleanly and print at the intended size.

Set Up the Page Correctly

Start by choosing the orientation that matches your content. Portrait works well for notes, mini planners, and folded inserts, while landscape can suit checklists, labels, or wide layouts. In page setup, set the document size to A6 rather than resizing an A4 or letter page. If the design will be trimmed after printing, add bleed around the edges and keep important text inside a safe margin so nothing gets cut off.

Print and Export Checks

Before exporting, confirm that images, fonts, and spacing still look balanced at A6 scale. Small formats can feel crowded quickly, so keep line length short and use readable font sizes. For printable cards or planner inserts, a simple grid, border, or one-column layout often works best. If the template is for digital editing, save it in a format that preserves page size and allows easy text changes, such as PDF or an editable document file.

For printing, always check scaling in the print dialog and choose actual size, 100%, or no scaling if you want the A6 paper template to print true to size. A preview that shows the page fitting to paper can change the dimensions, especially when printing on larger sheets. Test with a ruler or measure the printed page once, then adjust printer settings if needed. That quick check is the easiest way to avoid oversized or shrunken output.
